On July 25, 2017, Mrs. Funmi Babington Ashaye FCII, FIIN formally assumed the leadership of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, CIIN at the colorful and historic ceremony witnessed by the Commissioner for Insurance, Past Presidents of the CIIN and numerous captains of the Nigerian Isurance Industry.

Mrs. Babington Ashaye who by virtue of her investiture became the 6th female President and Chairman of Council of the oldest Professional Body in Nigeria and promised in her acceptance speech to raise the profile of the profession through education and enlightenment.
